Black carbon aerosols typically have a particle size of less than 2.5 micrometers and are an important component of atmospheric aerosols. They exert unique influences on the atmospheric environment, participating in heterogeneous atmospheric chemical processes and accumulating in modal forms. Due to the direct and indirect effects of black carbon aerosols on climate, air quality, and human health, they have garnered increasing attention from scientists and have become a focal point in current international atmospheric chemistry research. Therefore, long-term continuous monitoring of black carbon aerosols is essential.
The BC-100 Multispectral Black Carbon Monitor is based on the optical attenuation method, utilizing the different absorption characteristics of black carbon aerosols adsorbed on a strip of quartz filter paper across various optical wavelengths to achieve total monitoring of black carbon aerosol concentrations.
